With the announcement of Battlefield 6 ‘s Season 1 Battle Pass, Electronic Arts is again under fire after the Pro edition of the pass added a bonus Objective Ace operator skin that looks similar to Call of Duty ‘s Ghost mask.

Fans took to various platforms like Reddit , X (formerly Twitter) , and various gaming forums to accuse EA of ripping off Ghost with a cheap AI copy. It reignites long-running concerns of alleged AI-generated artworks in BF6’s premium cosmetics.

Why are fans claiming it to be a Ghost’s cheap copy? The claims and accusations are quite on-point, and the players have highlighted several similarities in the new Objective Ace operator skin’s mask and Ghost’s skull mask.

In a side‑by‑side comparison shared by an X (formerly Twitter) user, players point to the mark at the top-left forehead, the teeth drips, and the crack running from the right part of the nose to the left part of the upper chin.

From the initial look, to many, it not only looks like a cheap AI copy but also comes uncomfortably close to outright plagiarism of Ghost’s 2013 Call of Duty mask.

It is not the first time Battlefield 6 has been under accusation for such a thing; a couple of weeks ago, fans showed disappointment and accused EA of selling AI-generated cosmetics in a premium bundle, specifically pointing at a store sticker featuring a double‑barrel M4A1.

“ Two barrels on the M4A1, sure. I would literally prefer to have no sticker than some low quality AI generated garbage ,” said ‘Willcario’ on Reddit .

It is all contradictory to the claims made by the Battlefield’s European General Manager Rebecka Coutaz, who stated before the launch of BF6 that there would not be any AI-generated content inside BF6.

Does Call of Duty come under the same umbrella? Battlefield 6 is not the only one under accusations and controversies; Call of Duty has also done similar things in the past.

Last month Call of Duty also faced backlashes and criticism for using an AI-generated calling card in Black Ops 7 (BO7). Players accused Activision of putting low-quality and unfinished cosmetics in BO7, allegedly AI-generated.

Many players even requested refunds for the unfinished cosmetics and calling cards . And Activision’s unclear response raised more doubts and pushed the controversy further.

Around the same time, a couple of weeks later, Activision took a major decision to end the same-series yearly release of Black Ops and Modern Warfare, citing poor BO7 reception and the community’s rising fatigue for similar titles.
