Lies of P-A Dark, Twisted Fairytale
This one’s kinda like Bloodborne, but different. In Lies of P , you play as Pinocchio, but not the cartoon version. It’s darker and feels more serious.
You’re walking through this creepy city where puppets have basically lost it and are attacking people. The game plays like a Soulslike, so yeah, it’s tough.
You’ll die a lot, but the combat is clean. There’s also this whole system where your choices between truth or lies change your story.
It’s deep, but not in a confusing way. If you like action games that don’t hold your hand, this one’s for you.
DayZ – Survival Without Mercy
DayZ isn’t new, but it still feels tense. You’re thrown into a giant map, and there are no tutorials or anything.
You’ve got to figure stuff out while trying not to die. Zombies are there, yeah, but the real danger is other players. Anyone can betray you.
You could team up with someone, and then two minutes later, they take your gear and leave you to die. It’s rough.
That’s kind of the whole point. It’s not a casual game. You need to watch your hunger, thirst, injuries, and who you trust. It’s more about how long you can last than winning anything.

My Hero One’s Justice 2 – For the Anime Fans
If you like My Hero Academia , you’ll probably enjoy this. It’s a 3D fighter with all the characters from the anime.
The matches are quick and flashy. The arenas break apart while you fight, which looks cool. You’ve got your Quirks (that’s what they call powers in the show), and you can do combos that feel straight out of the anime.
It doesn’t reinvent anything, but it’s fun, especially if you’re a fan of Deku and the gang. It’s also easy to jump into, even if you’ve never played the first game.
15th Anniversary Freebie from Sony
You’ll find characters and stuff from Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy, Diablo IV , and a few others. It’s not a huge deal, but still cool if you like collecting that kind of stuff.
It’s kind of like a small thank you for sticking with the service all these years, especially after they increased the price not too long ago.
To be honest, PlayStation Plus Games August 2025 feels pretty balanced. You’re not getting brand-new titles, but the ones they picked are actually worth your time.
There’s a solid mix: one’s dark and difficult, one’s intense and all about survival, and one’s just fun anime action.
If you’re paying for PS Plus already, these are nice additions to your library. Not every month hits like this one, so it’s worth checking them all out.
