FlightSimExpo 2025 - 1

FlightSimExpo 2025 happened from June 27 to 29 at the Rhode Island Convention Center , and to keep it simple, it was packed.

I’ve been following this event for a while now, and I’ve got to say, this year felt bigger. Not just in crowd size, but in what devs and sim makers brought to the table.

It wasn’t flashy or overdone. Just a lot of real updates, new products, and people excited about simming. That’s what made it good.

If you couldn’t make it, there was also an online stream with full access to seminar recordings. So yeah, no one missed out.

FlightSimExpo 2025: Every Major Reveal from This Year’s Biggest Sim Event

FSS updates and that Super 27 thing

One of the early updates came from Flightsim Studio . They dropped their new Super 27, which is basically an upgrade to their 727 with EFIS and modern cockpit systems. It’s not something that’ll blow your mind, but it’s solid work.

They also talked more about their E-Jets , especially the FMC getting some better functionality. Also, they’re bringing the Tecnam P2012 to MSFS 2024 and updating the P2006T . These updates might not sound huge, but if you fly these regularly, it’s useful things.

Navigraph made a couple of interesting announcements. The big one is the new Navigraph Academy, which is supposed to help sim pilots learn things in a more guided way. It could be good for people starting out or even intermediate simmers.

Then they showed off a taxi assistance feature that shows you visual paths on the ground and gives alerts. And yeah, they’re also working on 3D route previews and some live traffic stuff that’ll plug into BeyondATC . Kinda neat.

SoFly

SoFly released the new Kennedy Space Center V2 for MSFS 2020 , and honestly, it looks pretty decent. They also have this Aircraft Sound Enhancer Tool coming out that could make things feel more immersive. Not a major thing, but still adds to the experience.

Parallel 42

So, Parallel 42 gave updates on the Chase Plane . They’re adding support for Tobii eye tracking and new cinematic features. For scenery stuff, Mexican Mountain and Bush Plane Campout are coming for MSFS 2024 .

They’re also working on the Super Patriot and something called the Legend Cub Nomad . All of this is mainly for folks into bush flying and off-grid sim flights.

iniBuilds and Doha

iniBuilds teamed up with Echo 19 to build a full, detailed version of Doha Hamad Intl Airport . Comes with the surrounding city too. If you’re into long-haul or Middle Eastern routes, this is worth checking out.

X-Plane 12.2.0

Laminar Research talked about the X-Plane 12.2.0 update. They fixed some weird dark cockpit lighting and made the atmospheric visuals a bit more realistic.

Also added a new weather radar system that works with both default and third-party planes. The A330 got an update, too, and so did the G1000 system.

Other smaller but useful Announcements

FeelThere is still working on Tower! Simulator 3 , not much new there, but it’s moving forward. Contrail is bringing the Dassault Falcon 50 to MSFS next year.

SayIntentions.AI launched the PocketSky app and the LaunchPad dev platform. They’re also rolling out AI Traffic Injection on July 7, 2025.

Aerosoft is partnering with ToLiss to build an Airbus A340 for MSFS, which might be a big deal for Airbus fans. Miltech said their MH60 helicopter is coming in July, and they’re teasing a new Vietnam-era Skyraider .

Hardware news worth mentioning

So it wasn’t all software. There was quite a bit of gear on display, too.

MOZA showed off a full setup including the AB6 Force Feedback Flight Base , MHG flightstick , and MTQ Throttle Quadrant . Looks like they’re going all-in now.

FliteSim.com had their CLS-Series yokes , FC consoles , and metal rudder pedals . What stood out was RemoteYokeSync , which lets you sync yokes online with another user. I think that’s pretty cool if it works smoothly.

WINWING brought in full-scale airline cockpit panels like landing gear controls , ECAM , and a nose wheel tiller . Altimeter Motives showed new hardware for the Piper PA28 . Nothing too wild, but good for general aviation simmers.

General thoughts and what’s next

I’m not gonna overhype it. FlightSimExpo 2025 didn’t try to be flashy, and maybe that’s why it worked. You had devs sharing real updates, users getting hands-on, and enough variety in the seminars to keep everyone interested. Even the side announcements like planespotting and workshops made it feel more laid back and community-focused.

If you’re planning, next year’s FlightSimExpo 2026 is gonna be held in Minneapolis/Saint Paul, MN , from June 12 to 14 . If they keep this pace, it might be even better.
