What’s Ghost of Yotei About

The main character is Atsu , a woman who has come back to her hometown after 16 years. Her goal is pretty simple.

Revenge . Her family was killed, and now she’s trying to take down the ones who did it. But here’s the catch: she’s not just a normal person. Atsu is what they call an onryō , which is like a vengeful spirit in Japanese culture.

As the game moves forward, more people start to hear about her. So the bounty on her head goes up. The enemies she runs into get tougher. And slowly, her legend builds.

The World and How It Works

The world in Ghost of Yotei is built to be explored at your speed. You can follow the main story or just go off on your own and do side stuff.

There are places called Altars of Reflection that help you unlock new skills, and they’re hidden all over the map.

Combat’s not just hack-and-slash either. You’ve got different weapons like katanas, spears, dual blades, kusarigama , and more.

Every weapon has its skill path, which lets you use it in smarter ways. It feels like you actually gotta think about how you want to fight instead of just charging in.

There’s a group called the Yotei Six ; they’re the main enemies, and each of them plays a part in what happened to Atsu’s family.

You can go after them however you want. You can track them, gather clues, or just face them head-on. It’s not locked to one way of doing it.

Is Ghost of Yotei Going to Be Big?

Honestly, it looks like it. If you liked Ghost of Tsushima , then this feels like the next step. But it’s not just a repeat.

The way Ghost of Yotei handles its story and world feels more thought-out. It’s not about rushing to finish quests. It’s more about taking your time and finding things for yourself.

Sucker Punch is trying to make something that feels different from the usual open-world action games. So far, it seems they’re doing a good job.
