HP at CES ’26 unveiled their new EliteBoard lineup, an entire PC built into a full‑size keyboard. Yes, you heard it right, a keyboard computer.

HP already ships all-in-one (AIO) PC s that hide the PC inside the monitor; now they are taking a different route and are putting the hardware directly under your fingertips.

The concept of a PC inside a keyboard isn’t new; we have seen a number of keyboard PCs around since the 70s. For example, the Apple II , the Commodore 64 , and most recently the Raspberry Pi 400 followed a similar idea.

With low-end hardware and a large form factor (except the Raspberry Pi 400), they were targeted at basic computing needs and 8-bit gaming. HP , in contrast, tried to provide a fresh and modern AIO form factor with all the necessary hardware to fulfill today’s workstation needs.

HP calls EliteBoard G1a the “first and only AI keyboard PC” available at the moment. The design aligns with trends, like compact desktops, hot-desking, and hybrid work environments.

On paper, it packs fairly serious hardware for something that looks like a regular keyboard:

  • up to AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor with integrated iGPU,
  • up to 64 GB DDR5-6400 RAM (user‑upgradeable RAM via SO‑DIMM slots),
  • up to 2 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD,
  • up to two simultaneous 4K displays,
  • 32 Wh battery for standalone usage,
  • Wi-Fi 6E/Bluetooth 5.4 or Wi-Fi 7/Bluetooth 6.0 wireless connectivity,
  • USB 4.0 and USB 3.2 Gen2 ports,
  • built-in speakers and microphones.

HP says the EliteBoard G1a weighs only 726 grams (including the battery) and has dimensions of 358 x 118 x 17 mm, roughly matching a standard full‑size keyboard form factor.

The specification can handle most day-to-day applications and can even handle occasional high-end workloads, depending on the configuration.

HP claims up to 50 trillion operations per second (TOPS) of NPU performance, which means it can utilize Copilot+ and take full advantage of all of Microsoft’s latest on‑device AI features.

For schools and small‑ to medium‑scale businesses that already have monitors on every desk, the EliteBoard could be an easy upgrade; just plug in the keyboard, and you have a fully functional modern PC.

While the final consumer pricing isn’t announced yet, HP confirms the sale of the new EliteBoard G1a “Next Gen AI PC” will start as early as March ’26.
