Tomb Raider - 1

To be honest, it’s kind of strange how long it’s been since we last got a proper Lara Croft Tomb Raider game .

The last real one was back in 2018, and since then, all we’ve seen are guest appearances here and there. Lara’s still around, yeah, but not in her own game. It’s starting to feel a bit off.

So yeah, Lara’s been in a bunch of stuff. Call of Duty, Dead by Daylight , even World of Tanks . That one kind of mixes her old-school look with the newer reboot phase.

Cool, but again… it’s not a new game. They even threw in Jonah and Amanda Evert, which felt random. Not bad, just odd.

These things help keep her name out there, sure. But for fans who want a real story, a full game? It’s just not cutting it. You can only be hyped for cameos for so long.

The Game That’s “In Development”

But ever since then? Nothing. Just silence.

Some think the recent layoffs at Crystal Dynamics might have slowed stuff down. Also, Embracer said earlier this year that one of their big AAA games got pushed to a later fiscal year. Fans are guessing that’s Lara’s game. Again, no confirmation. Just more waiting.

How Fans Feel Right Now

At this point, it’s pretty clear. People love Lara Croft Tomb Raider , but they’re tired of all the teasing. These side appearances are fine, but they’re not what anyone asked for.

Lara deserves more than just crossovers. She needs a proper comeback. Right now, all we have is hope. And honestly, that’s starting to run low for some of us.
