Gotham is now an open world
For the first time in a LEGO Batman game, players will get to explore a full open-world version of Gotham City.
You can drive the Batmobile across the city, move between rooftops and tall skyscrapers, and discover different areas across Gotham. This makes the city feel more alive and immersive compared to past LEGO Batman titles.

Heroes and villains included
You will not be alone in the game. Batman will team up with characters like Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, and Catwoman. On the other side, villains such as The Joker, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Ra’s al Ghul and Bane are part of the story.
A small extra detail that fans may enjoy is that actor Matt Berry has been confirmed to give his voice for Bane.
New gameplay features
TT Games has updated the combat system. It now feels closer to the Batman Arkham games , with combo-based fighting that looks smoother and more action-focused.
The game also supports two-player local co-op, so you can play with a friend as different members of the Bat Family, each one using their own gadgets.
For those who want a bit more difficulty, there are new modes called Caped Crusader and Dark Knight. Another feature is that the Batcave can be customized. Players will be able to show their favorite Batsuits, vehicles, and collectibles inside it.
Overall, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is shaping up to be one of the biggest LEGO games yet. The open-world Gotham, the new combat mechanics, and the large lineup of heroes and villains make it stand out.
It looks like TT Games is mixing Batman’s history with new ideas to make the gameplay more modern. The game is planned for release in 2026, and it will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and also the rumored Nintendo Switch 2.
