So, on July 31, 2025 , Nintendo dropped a new Partner Showcase . This one didn’t have any Mario or Zelda stuff, which people usually expect, but still, it was actually solid.

In about 25 minutes, they managed to show a lot of Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase Games that are coming soon, and most of it focused on titles from other studios.

Some games are for the current Switch, but a big part of it was clearly setting things up for the Switch 2 . I watched the whole thing, and here’s what stood out to me.

Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase Games Gave Us a Clear Look at What’s Coming Next

Monster Hunter, Octopath, and Some Real Big Titles

The most talked-about reveal was easily Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection . It’s coming in 2026 for Switch 2, and the story is based around a Rathalos rider trying to deal with some kind of environmental problem. Looked like it was going to be emotional, not just fights.

Then there’s Octopath Traveler 0 . If you’ve played the others, you already know the HD-2D style is nice to look at. This one’s a prequel with town-building stuff too. The launch date is December 4, 2025 , also for Switch 2.

For sports fans, Madden NFL 26 is releasing on August 14 , and if you pre-order the deluxe version, you get early access. It’s not something I personally follow much, but it’s good to see big sports titles still showing up for Switch.

Other Titles Worth Noticing

They also gave a quick look at Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment , which is tied to the Tears of the Kingdom storyline. Princess Zelda and King Rauru were shown briefly. They said it’s out sometime Winter 2025 .

If you’re into sci-fi, Star Wars: Outlaws looked decent. They’ve gone with an open-world approach, and it’s coming September 4 on Switch 2.

Then there’s Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted , which is more like a reboot with co-op and HD visuals. It’s out October 23 .

Also, Apex Legends is dropping on Switch 2 soon, with a Legendary Pathfinder skin for early users on August 5 .

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is arriving November 14 , for both old and new Switch models. It’s got alternate timeline stuff from the anime, which should please the fans.

They also name-dropped a few more like EA Sports FC 26 , Persona 3 Reload , Yakuza Kiwami 1 & 2 , Cronos: The New Dawn , Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac , Just Dance 2026 , and Once Upon a Katamari .

Was It a Good Showcase? Yeah, Kinda

To be honest, I didn’t go in expecting too much, especially since there was no first-party reveal. Still, I think this event made it obvious that Nintendo wants to show how strong its third-party game support is, especially with Switch 2 coming soon.

Some folks on social media called it “okay” or “not exciting enough,” but from what I saw, the lineup is looking diverse and consistent. And I think that’s what matters going into 2026.
