According to the features and improvements we have seen and expect, the 8.5 update could be one of the biggest updates after One UI 7.0.

Via some code leaks found by Android Authority , it seems like Samsung is working on a great deal of updates with Now Brief features in One UI 8; the code suggests that it could bring smarter and more accurate YouTube and Spotify recommendations.
What is Now Bar and Now Brief?
Now Brief and Now Bar are the AI features we got with this year’s Galaxy flagship additions, i.e., the Galaxy S25 series.
Now Bar adds a small toolbar-styled widget area in the lower-center portion of the lock screen/AOD that shows live/real-time notifications and information like music playback, map navigations, sports scores, etc.
Whereas Now Brief is a smart widget-style app that gives you a personalized summary of your daily tasks, like smart home status, weather, calendar events, reminders, etc.

Now coming to the upcoming features to the smart Now Brief via the One UI 8.5 update. After the update, Now Brief could look through your YouTube likes’ history to generate a bunch of new video recommendations. Obviously the system will seek your consent first for going through your YT likes’ history.

Not only YouTube, but the update will push Spotify recommendations to a great extent as well. As per the codes revealed via the APK teardown, it is possible that Now Brief will show much better Spotify playlist recommendations based on date and time, the weather, the season, and most importantly, the mood.
The code strings also suggested that the playlist could be targeted as per any specific calendar events as well like birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

However, these are the leaked codes from the early version of the APK builds. And these features may or may not make it to the final release of the update.

If these features do make it to the final release, we could see early glimpses of these features as early as December 8, 2025, with the release of the One UI 8.5 public beta.
