What’s special this year?

The main draw is two themed Pikachu variants: saree Pikachu and kurta Pikachu . Both outfits were popular last year and are back for a limited time.

How to catch them?

You can find these Pikachu in raids, as Field Research rewards when you spin PokéStops, and as goals inside Timed Research.

There is a branching Timed Research path so you can focus on the outfit you want more. Complete the tasks to get items like Rare Candy and Poké Balls. The saree path and kurta path will give different rewards, so pick the one you want more and follow it.

Event bonuses and encounters

When you use Incense it lasts twice as long as usual and attracts a selection of light themed Pokémon. Expect spawns such as Ponyta, Chinchou, Litwick, Morelull, Volbeat and Tadbulb.

Several of these can also be Shiny and some may appear with a special glowing effect. There will be a Collection Challenge and themed Field Research that reward Stardust, XP and occasionally a Premium Raid Pass. You will also earn new stickers to share with friends.

Log in daily during Oct 18 to 23 to complete timed tasks. Use Incense while you play to boost encounters. If you want both Pikachu variants, try to complete both branches of the Timed Research before the event ends. Some rewards are time-limited so don’t delay.
