SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio confirmed the date as February 12, 2026, for the remake and its companion.

The studio shared a first look at combat and gameplay that keeps the series’ heavy brawling and refine it for the new console. The footage shows tighter moves and updated enemy encounters.
What’s different in this version
This is not a small port. The team calls it an evolved edition built from the OG PS3 game. Players get great visuals , added cutscenes , and a new playable arc.
The new Dark Ties chapter focuses on Yoshitaka Mine, letting you see parts of the story from the villain’s side. That’s the main reason fans are excited.

Availability and formats
Before this title lands, SEGA will release Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 on Switch 2 in November 2025, so newcomers can play in order.
All announced Switch 2 releases will offer game-key card physical editions while also supporting digital keys. Good for collectors and for people who prefer boxed copies.
