Famitsu, one of the biggest gaming magazines in Japan, gave the game 36 out of 40 . That’s four reviewers giving 9/10 each .
They liked the story, the horror vibe, the visuals, and the combat. The only complaints were minor, like sometimes the navigation is confusing, and some character upgrades slow the flow. Still, overall, it’s a really strong start for the series.
Early Reviews Suggest Silent Hill f Could Revive the Series with a New Setting, Intense Combat, and Strong Replay Value
What Makes Silent Hill f Different?
The biggest change is the setting. The game is not in the classic American Silent Hill town anymore. Instead, it’s in 1960s Japan , in a small fictional town called Ebisugaoka.
The story is more like a dark, creepy fable, but it keeps the tense, uneasy feeling that the series is known for.

Gameplay is different, too. Combat is more action-focused, and some comparisons to Souls-style games are being made, but the developers say it’s not the same.
The fights are harder, faster, and more intense than in previous Silent Hill games. It’s definitely a shift from slow survival horror to something more aggressive, but it still keeps the series’ horror tone.
Replay and Playtime

Early impressions from other sources, like an unofficial DualShockers review, gave it 9.5/10 . They mentioned New Game+ , which lets you replay the game with extra stuff.
A single playthrough is around 12 to 13 hours , which is decent, and with multiple endings, the game encourages replaying to see everything.
So, overall the first Silent Hill f review shows the series might finally be back on track. With a new setting, better combat, strong visuals, and replayable content, this could be the game fans have been waiting for. It’s not perfect, there are small issues, but overall it’s a very promising start.
