After a long wait, Insomniac Games finally showed the first proper look at Marvel’s Wolverine . The Wolverine gameplay reveal happened during the PlayStation State of Play event.
This is the first time fans got to see the game in action after it was announced back in 2021. Until now, there has been only leaked footage that was not clear or complete.

The trailer starts with Logan wearing a cowboy outfit and also his famous yellow costume. The action was direct and violent, with Wolverine fighting both human enemies and robotic soldiers. The combat looked heavy and close, matching the character’s nature.
For fans of the comics, the trailer also confirmed some villains. Sentinels, Omega Red, and Mystique are part of the game. Their presence makes it clear that the developers are using a lot of history from Wolverine’s comics.
Cast, locations, and release
Insomniac confirmed that actor Liam McIntyre, who is known from Spartacus, is the one playing Logan. He will do both the voice and the motion capture.
The trailer also showed some places that will be part of the game. Players will be able to explore the Canadian wilderness, Madripoor, which is known as a criminal hub, and also Japan, with its advanced technology. These locations are strongly linked to Wolverine’s story in Marvel.

At the end, the trailer confirmed the release window as Fall 2026. Insomniac also mentioned that more details about the game will be shared in Spring 2026.
Insomniac’s Marvel games
The studio already has a strong record with Marvel. They made Spider-Man in 2018, Spider-Man: Miles Morales in 2020, and Spider-Man 2 in 2023. All of them were well received.
There are also talks about a possible third Spider-Man game. With this new project, Insomniac is expanding its connection with Marvel.
